Monthly Update: April Wrap Up

april wrap up

Hello everyone! It’s officially a day into May which means I need to share with all of you the books I read last month πŸ˜€ In April, I managed to finish a total of 8 books and 1 graphic novel which is absolutely crazy! I don’t know how I managed with school and everything but hey, I’m definitely not complaining πŸ˜‰ So what are we waiting for? Let’s get onto the books!

How many books did I complete from my AprilΒ TBR?

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefavter

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefavter

Blue Lily Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan MatsonΒ

Yeah… So basically, I couldn’t get through the whole Raven Cycle 😦 But at least The Raven King is out now… Next month, I promise ❀

13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher

I actually listened to this on audiobook which was such an amazing experience! The narrator for 13 Reasons Why was absolutely great but I didn’t like the story as much as I would have hoped πŸ˜¦Β β˜…β˜…β˜… starsΒ for the book andΒ β˜…β˜…β˜….5Β stars for the audiobook!

Locke & Key Volume 1: Welcome To Lovecraft by Joe Hill

So WHY did I pick up a horror graphic novel?!? Locke and Key was pretty great but really terrifying… I don’t think I should have read it at midnight when I was alone in the house XOΒ β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… Stars!

Ghetto by M. L. Sparrow

Ghetto by M L Sparrow was a really fresh take on the usual YA Dystopian. Though it had it’s faults, there was a really adorable romance between Sin and Sunny which I loved ❀ β˜…β˜…β˜….5 Stars!Β Spoiler Free ReviewΒ here

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

Since You’ve Been Gone was DEFINITELY my favourite read of the month!!! Such a beautifully written contemporary with important messages about friendship and first love ❀ I absolutely adored it!Β β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… Stars all around πŸ˜€Β Spoiler Free ReviewΒ here

Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang

Falling Into Place definitely surprised me in a good way :0 Though Amy Zhang deals with a lot of tough taboos subjects, she manages to weave her story so poignantly that I couldn’t help but fall into her trance.β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… Stars! Spoiler Free ReviewΒ here

The Vanishing Year by Kate Moretti

The Vanishing Year was a smoothly written adult mysteryΒ that deeply captured me into it’s world. Though there were some plot twists that I immediately pieced together, it was nevertheless an amazing ride.Β β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜….5 Stars! Spoiler Free Review to come closer to the release date.

GoodreadsΒ |Β AmazonΒ |Β Book Depository

The Raven Boys by MaggieΒ Stiefvater

This was a reread and I loved it just as much (IF NOT MORE :P) the second time around. Blue and The Raven Boys are just unforgettable characters and I seriously need to get started on The Dream Thieves!Β β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜….5 Stars! Spoiler Free Review to come this week πŸ˜‰

GoodreadsΒ |Β AmazonΒ |Β Book Depository

Kill The Boy Band by Goldy Moldavsky

Kill The Boy Band is definitely not a book for everyone. Darker than it seems, debut author, Goldy Moldavsky deeply delves into the sinister world of fangirls.β˜…β˜…β˜… Stars! Spoiler Free ReviewΒ here

GoodreadsΒ |Β AmazonΒ |Β Book Depository

The Dark Missions of Edgar Brim by Shane Peacock

The Dark Missions of Edgar Brim was ultimately disappointing. The first half of the book was absolutely wonderful, but things just went downhill from there 😦 Still, the story had it’s meritsΒ and if you are okay with slower paced books, you might really enjoy this one.Β β˜…β˜….5 Stars! Spoiler Free Review to come this week.

Great reading month, Jenna! I’m so glad that you enjoyed Since You’ve Been Gone. It’s still one of my favourite contemporaries. Morgan Matson never disappoints! And yes, you totally need to start The Dream Thieves and continue on with the series. SO GOOD. I just got The Raven King in the mail yesterday and cannot wait to dive in. I need more Blansey!
